Based in Philadelphia, experimental indie rock quartet Sieve’s debut EP Three Secrets is energized with internal ramblings that unwind and unfold into tight, jagged interlocking grooves. There’s a healthy measure of playfulness running through Three Secrets as well, one can only assume born from a group of idiosyncratic musicians who are simultaneously pushing at their creative limits and having fun doing it. The band’s first single “Of Course” capitalizes on this energy and is centered on the conversational interplay between Em Boltz’s anamorphic guitar and Emily Lyon’s jaunty keys. “Of Course” also plays to Sieve’s more comedic ‘carnival’ side – as the title is not based on the lyrics but rather what the rest of the band thought they heard.
