New Open Tab Single 'Girls' by The Dare Out Now!
Today, Fire Talk Records' imprint Open Tab has released a new track from New York-based artist The Dare.
“Girls” is the new single from Brooklyn-based the Dare, available digitally on Fire Talk imprint Open Tab. Having previously recorded music under the name Turtlenecked as well as contributing to various projects across the New York scene (including a recent stint drumming for Porches), Harrison Patrick Smith has been recognized by NPR as being “at the forefront of a new generation of young rock musicians who've never known anything other than limitless possibilities” for his innovative spin on pop music and proclivity for making “really fun songs” (FADER). “Girls” takes Smith’s talent for obsessive pop structures to a whole new level. In this hook-filled spin on modern day decadence, his winningly euphoric take on modern day romance and nightlife culture collide into some of his most impossibly catchy and winning melodic formulas yet.
“Jake Lazovick (Powered by Wind) shot the video at Home Sweet Home, where I DJ weekly, in order to capture a real downtown NYC party. We invited all of our friends and told them to go crazy while I DJ’d and ran around. A lot of the people in it are fellow musicians or collaborators! And some of them are girls.”
